JUCY campervans at Wellington Airport

Conveniently located close to Wellington Airport and with a free shuttle service, our JUCY Wellington branch makes a full North Island road trip possible. 

Wellington is smack bang in the centre of New Zealand. Whether you’re driving from Auckland to Wellington, or from Wellington to Queenstown, picking up or dropping off a campervan in the capital city is the ultimate convenience.  

When you arrive at our branch, we’ll guide you through the necessary paperwork and give you a detailed show through of your vehicle. Our goal is to get you on the road as soon as possible, so you have more time to enjoy your Kiwi road trip.

Our free airport shuttle can pick you up from Wellington Airport. The shuttle takes about 10 minutes. 

The last shuttle leaves the airport 45 minutes before our branch closes.  

To request the shuttle, call 0800 399 736 or +64 9 929 2462 and follow the directions to select Wellington. 

To find the shuttle meeting point, head to baggage claim on level 0 and you will see the Subway restaurant on the right side of the floor. 

Wait by the entry/exit door located by Subway and a JUCY staff member will come to greet you and take you to the shuttle zone. 

When you drop off your camper, you can simply hop on the next shuttle to the airport. The drop off point is outside Subway on the ground floor of the terminal. The last drop off shuttle departs the JUCY branch at 4.15pm.

From Wellington Airport catch our free JUCY shuttle to our JUCY branch  

If you’re coming from Wellington City, you can catch the Airport Hopper bus to Wellington Airport and then catch our shuttle to the branch. Alternatively, catch a number 2, 11, 43 or 44 bus from outside 77 Manners Street to the intersection of Rongotai Road and Troy Street and walk approximately 600 metres to reach the JUCY branch. 

Another option is to catch a taxi or Uber, which should cost around $30.

Dropping off your vehicle

Campervans can only be returned to this location during normal business hours. 

Please ensure that your camper is full of petrol and you have removed all of your belongings and rubbish. Leave your vehicle keys with a member of our JUCY crew.

Start your campervan road trip in Wellington

Campervan hire from Wellington Airport means you can start your epic trip from the capital of culture, coffee and cuisine! 

The capital city of New Zealand is a compact city bursting with personality. You’ll find plenty of excellent cafes and art galleries in town, as well as fabulous harbour views from the steep hillsides.  

After a few days of soaking up the city buzz, you can choose to road trip around the south of the North Island. 

Head to Martinborough to explore the abundant vineyards and olive groves in the area. Sample Pinot Noir, the specialty of the region – just don’t wine taste and drive! 

Then carry on to Castlepoint, another epic road trip destination only two and a half hours from Wellington. The 1913 lighthouse is strikingly scenic, and the nearby beach is a windswept beauty.  

On the way back to Wellington, swing by Cape Palliser, the southernmost point of the North Island and home to the largest fur seal colony on the whole island.

Board an inter island ferry and head to the wild beauty of the Marlborough Sounds and golden beaches of Abel Tasman. From there, you can make your way down to Queenstown or Christchurch, where you can find other JUCY locations to drop off you camper.
